UAE expresses solidarity with Jordan over gas leak victims

The UAE has expressed its solidarity with Jordan following a gas leak in the port of Aqaba, which caused numerous deaths and injuries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation offered its condolences to the Jordanian government and to the families of the victims.

The disaster occurred on Monday night when a large chlorine gas tank fell by the dockside while being transported.

At least 13 people were killed in the incident and over 250 others injured.

Jordanian authorities have confirmed that Aqaba city is now totally safe with air quality tests showing no danger in the atmosphere.
