Dubai International Airport (DXB) is marking 60 years of connecting travellers with the world.

From a small desert runway in 1960, DXB has grown phenomenally and has since welcomed over 1.1 billion customers.

It has handled over 7.47 million flights in the process, connecting more than 240 destinations in 95 countries.

In a series of Tweets, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports and President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group, highlighted the growth of DXB over the years and how it has positioned Dubai at the heart of global aviation.
