"Sending hope, prayers, and support to India and all its people during this challenging time,” the Burj Khalifa's official Twitter account said.

The iconic tower also displayed the hashtag #StayStrongIndia.

India is in the grip of a rampaging second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the number of cases surging by 349,691 in the past 24 hours.
