Bahrain has suspended all flights from Dubai and Sharjah for the next 48 hours over coronavirus fears.

The country recorded its first confirmed case on Monday.

In a Tweet, Bahrain's Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) affirmed it is cooperating with authorities to take necessary measures in light of COVID-19.

They added that all passengers arriving in Bahrain suspected of infection will be tested and immediately transferred to designated centres for isolation and treatment.

All passengers flying to Bahrain have been advised to check with their airlines about the latest updates and rebooking options.

In a statement sent to ARN News, Emirates Airline announced the cancellation of "EK837/838: Dubai – Bahrain - Dubai, EK839/840: Dubai – Bahrain - Dubai, EK833/834: Dubai – Bahrain - Dubai, EK835/836: Dubai – Bahrain - Dubai" on February 25 and 26.

ARN News has also reached out to Dubai International Airports for further updates.
