Motorists involved in minor traffic accidents in Abu Dhabi are being urged to use the 'Saaed' app from August 1, instead of calling the emergency hotline 999.

The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police said that the app allows drivers to request an accident report directly from the scene by following a few simple steps.

It also provides real-time location tracking, damage reporting and smart notifications to confirm receipt and issue the report.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction by streamlining the accident reporting process.

Colonel Mahmoud Youssef Al-Balushi from the Traffic and Security Patrol Directorate also emphasised the importance of moving the vehicles involved in an accident to a safe location to avoid traffic obstructions.

Failure to do so could result in a fine of AED 1,000 and six traffic points.
