A reckless driver in Dubai has been handed a total of 29 black points for violating multiple traffic laws and endangering his life and those of others.
In video posted on Dubai Police's social media, the driver is seen overtaking dangerously on a two-way road.
He has been handed a fine of AED 2,000, 23 black points and 30-day vehicle impoundment for "driving a vehicle in a manner that endangers one's own life, the lives of others, their safety, or security". Additionally, he has been fined AED 600 and 6 black points for improper overtaking.
According to the UAE traffic laws, drivers will face license suspension and court proceedings if they cross the yearly limit of 24 black points.
In their social media post, Dubai Police urged drivers to "stay focused, avoid distractions, check mirrors, and use signals before changing lanes to prevent accidents".
