The Abu Dhabi-led Hope Consortium is set to establish a COVID-19 vaccine distribution corridor via Belgium.

The pharma air corridor between Abu Dhabi and Brussels Airports aims to increase the efficiency and speed of vaccine delivery.

It will bring together key stakeholders, including forwarders and ground handling agents.

Two agreements have been signed between Belgium and Abu Dhabi as part of the latest collaboration.

The first pact was between the HOPE Consortium, Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), Brussels Airport Company and Pharma.Aero to setup a dedicated pharma trade lane.

The second agreement was signed by the HOPE Consortium, Pharma.Aero, Khalifa University of Science and Technology and the University of Antwerp to host the second edition of the “Pharma Logistics Masterclass”.

The course, focusing on critical challenges and developments in pharma supply chains and logistics will be held at Khalifa University from September 5-9, 2022.

The Hope Consortium has already handled over 200 million doses of COVID vaccines, contributing to inoculation programmes in over 40 destinations worldwide.
