2.1 million use public transport in Dubai during New Year's Eve

More than two million people used public transport in Dubai during the New Year's Eve celebrations.

That's according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which revealed that 907,411 riders hopped on Dubai Metro's Red and Green lines.

Meanwhile close 690,000 people used taxis, 440,000 rode public buses and just over 37,000 riders made use of the tram.

All marine modes of transport carried 52,000 commuters.
