A total of AED 1 billion has been donated to help those in need across Abu Dhabi.

More than 400,000 people in the emirate have been helped by the Authority of Social Contribution Ma'an's "Together We are Good" campaign.

Organised in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the community has raised AED 1 billion over 100 days.

As many as 30,000 contributions have been donated to help residents and citizens in need.

A total of 27 million meals have been distributed, while more than 1,700 medical workers benefited from accommodation in hotels and villas.

And thousands of laptops have been given to children to continue their education at home.

Employees from Mubadala, Arkan and Emirates Steel also donated part of their monthly salaries to the programme.

Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, said: "I am proud of the rapid response shown by all members of the UAE community during the past hundred days by achieving the goals for which it was established: to provide a dignified life for both citizens and residents."
