Emergency services battled a blaze at an accommodation complex to rescue more than 40 labourers in Ras Al Khaimah.
The fire broke out in residential portacabins in the Al Mairid area near the port and the Federal Electricity and Water Authority building.
Firefighters were alerted to the incident at about 9:40 pm.
Nine of the 21 portacabins caught fire at the complex.
The Ras Al Khaimah Civil Defence teams helped 44 workers to safety.
The labour camp was cordoned off and there were no reports of any injuries.
