UAE unveils plan to build next generation of Emirati family entrepreneurs

WAM

A new national initiative is set to train 1,000 Emirati entrepreneurial families across the UAE in business and project management.

It’s part of a five-year plan to empower 200 families each year, helping them build sustainable, competitive ventures in the new economy.

Participants will receive professional training, technical support and marketing guidance to grow their businesses.

The initiative is part of ‘The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World’ campaign, initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

It’s a joint effort by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, and the Ministry of Community Empowerment, in collaboration with the New Economy Academy and the National CSR Fund – Majra.

The programme supports the UAE's broader goals of income sustainability, self-sufficiency and building a cohesive, future-ready society.

The number of entrepreneurs from Emirati families in the UAE witnessed a significant increase in 2024, reaching 3,307 with an annual growth of 4.5 per cent.
