Dubai Police cars have been patrolling the streets of the emirate to ensure that people are abiding by the National Disinfection Programme's rules and guidelines.

In a video posted on Twitter, officers are seen stopping cars and checking for violators between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am.

Residents have been urged to stay at home amidst concerns over COVID-19 and as part of the UAE government’s efforts to help contain the spread of the virus.

The Higher Committee of Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management in the emirate also introduced the ‘move permit’, which authorizes people to step out of their homes to buy essentials like food or medicine during the disinfection drive.
