All private and public schools as well as nurseries in Umm Al Quwain have been told to change over to distance education "until further notice".

The decision has been taken by the UAE Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster management team, as part of precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Earlier, Ajman and Sharjah made similar moves to switch to 100 per cent e-learning.
