UAE welcomes US move to lift Syria sanctions

The UAE has welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Syria, calling it a positive step toward fostering growth and prosperity in the country.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs voiced strong support for the aspirations of the Syrian people and praised Saudi Arabia’s role in advancing regional efforts.

The Ministry expressed hope that the move would pave the way for Syria’s economic recovery and the start of reconstruction, helping to bring stability and development to the nation.

The UAE also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at achieving peace, security and progress for the Syrian people.
