The UAE cabinet has approved the regulatory framework for issuing long-term visas in certain categories.

Residency departments in the country will soon start receiving the applications.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai announced this on Twitter following a cabinet meeting.

Last year, the UAE announced that it would grant five or 10-year residency visas to investors, entrepreneurs, and specialised talents in the medical, scientific, research and technical fields, as well as outstanding students.

The visa benefits also extend to their spouses and children.
