UAE sends 30 tonnes of aid to drought-hit Kenya

WAM

The UAE has sent 30 tonnes of food aid to Kenya to support families hit by severe drought and worsening climate conditions.

The assistance was delivered through the UAE Aid Agency as Kenya faces prolonged dry spells and the effects of the La Niña weather pattern, which has left several regions struggling with food insecurity, water shortages and widespread environmental impact.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, stressed that the UAE will continue standing by countries facing crises, whether caused by natural disasters or challenges in accessing essential supplies.

He added that UAE Aid Agency teams, working with national donors and charitable organisations, are focused on rapid response and early recovery efforts in climate‑related emergencies around the world.
