UAE plants trees to offset carbon emissions from Special Olympics

The UAE has announced plans to compensate for the carbon dioxide emissions caused by the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.

As many local trees as possible will be planted to offset the environmental impact of the huge sporting event.

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) is implementing the initiative in partnership with the organising committee of the Special Olympics.

His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE's Minister of Climate Change and Environment shared the details with ARN News.
