UAE supports Congo with medical aid shipment amidst Ebola outbreak

A flight has been sent out from the UAE containing health supplies to support Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo, announced Director General of the World Heath Organisation (WHO) Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus on Thursday.

In a post shared on social media platform X, the WHO director stated that the supplies included personal protective equipment for health workers and other supplies for infection prevention and control activities.

He added that the shipment was sent out from the Global Health Emergencies Logistics Hub in Dubai, with another flight to depart from the hub early next week. 

 The number of confirmed Ebola cases in Congo has increased to 381, government data showed on Thursday.
