UAE rescue team intensifies fight against Albania wildfires

WAM

The UAE rescue team is continuing its firefighting efforts in Albania, where wildfires have swept across several regions.

Since arriving in the country on August 11, the UAE team has conducted 27 aerial missions using Black Hawk helicopters, dropping over 1,260 tonnes of water on fire hotspots.

The operations are being carried out in close coordination with Albanian authorities.

The UAE team is also working on long-term plans to prevent flare-ups and accelerate response efforts.

This mission follows the directive of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to support Albania in combatting the deadly wildfires.
