UAE President marks Zayed Humanitarian Day with tribute to Sheikh Zayed

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan paid tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as the country marked Zayed Humanitarian Day on Sunday, reflecting on the founding leader’s legacy of compassion and generosity.

In a message posted on social media, the President said the occasion is a moment to remember the values that helped shape the nation.

“On Zayed Humanitarian Day, we reflect on the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose values of compassion, resilience, and care for people guide our nation, especially in challenging times,” he said.

The president added that Sheikh Zayed’s vision continues to inspire the UAE’s approach to humanitarian work and social solidarity.

“His vision reminds us that humanity and solidarity will always prevail,” he said.

Meanwhile, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, also posted a message, saying "Zayed Humanitarian Day embodies the noble values of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his enduring legacy of dedicating the nation's blessings to serve humanity, build nations, and extend support to those in need, advancing the wellbeing of communities and the development of societies.

"Zayed's legacy of giving remains a lasting source of inspiration, guiding generations to continue the path of humanitarian generosity through impactful charitable initiatives and sustainable development projects that benefit communities around the world"

Zayed Humanitarian Day is observed each year on the 19th day of Ramadan, marking the anniversary of Sheikh Zayed’s passing. The day highlights the UAE’s commitment to charitable and humanitarian initiatives both at home and around the world.
