UAE President, Japanese PM discuss impact of Iranian attacks on global economy

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has looked at the implications of the Iranian attacks on regional stability and maritime security during a phone discussion with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

The two sides also noted that Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, including attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, constitute a violation of sovereignty, international law and the UN Charter.

Takaichi condemned the attacks and affirmed Japan’s solidarity with the UAE regarding all measures it is taking to safeguard its sovereignty and ensure safety of its people.

During the talks, both sides also welcomed the successful conclusion of negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement that is expected to enhance trade and investment flows between the two countries. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to achieve the objectives of this partnership in a manner that supports their mutual interests.
