UAE eases travel restrictions from India, Pakistan and others

The UAE has announced it will allow in more travellers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda from August 5.

On Tuesday, it expanded the categories of travellers who are allowed entry into the country.

  • Valid residency permit holders who have received both doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the UAE, with 14 days passed since the second dose, and vaccination certificates issued by approved authorites in the country
  • Medical professionals working in the country, including doctors, nurses, technicians (vaccinated and unvaccinated)
  • Those working in the education sector, teachers in universities, colleges, schools and institutes (vaccinated and unvaccinated)
  • Students studying in the country (vaccinated and unvaccinated)
  • Humanitarian cases who hold a valid residence visa (vaccinated and unvaccinated)
  • Workers in federal and local government agencies (vaccinated and unvaccinated)
  • Those receiving medical treatment in the country (vaccinated and unvaccinated)

All these categories will need approvals from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship by submitting their documents on its website.

They will also need valid vaccination certificates that have been approved/attested by relevant authorities.

They will need a negative PCR test with 48-hour validity from accredited laboratories that has a QR Code, and a quick laboratory test (RP-PCR) before boarding the plane.

Once travellers arrive in the UAE from these countries they must follow precautionary measures, including quarantine, PCR testing upon arrival and monitoring of their health.
