The UAE has offered its sincere condolences and solidarity with Kenya over landslides caused by heavy rainfall in the west of the country that resulted in the deaths of at least 26 people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the victim's families, the government, and the people of Kenya over this tragedy.

According to Reuters, hundreds of people have been killed in recent years in landslides and flooding in Kenya, with scientists saying climate change is causing more intense and frequent extreme weather events.

In the worst incident last year, 61 people were killed in a mudslide and flash floods in central Kenya.
