The UAE has launched a new global initiative to train one million paramedics remotely.

It has been announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as part of efforts to support the health sector internationally.

The virtual programme aims to provide specialised medical and ambulatory training to healthcare workers.

Nearly 140 experts will deliver the training in partnership with 67 academic institutions from around the world.

Sheikh Mohammed said the initiative will be implemented under the supervision of Lieutenant General His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
