UAE, Indian foreign ministers discuss regional security

WAM

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has discussed the implications of Iran's attacks on the UAE and its neighbouring countries with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India's Minister of External Affairs, in a meeting in the UAE on Saturday.

The two top diplomats held talks on the effects of Iran's aggression on regional and international security, global navigation, energy supplies, and the world economy.

They also reviewed the latest updates following President Donald Trump's announcement on a two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran, emphasising the importance of international efforts to establish sustainable peace and security in the region.

The two ministers further looked into opportunities to strengthen bilateral strategic relations to serve the interests of both countries and their peoples.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed his appreciation for his counterpart's visit, noting it reflects the depth of the strategic partnership between the two nations. He also assured the safety of all residents and visitors within the UAE during the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Indian Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country's full solidarity with the UAE in its measures to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
