UAE helps boost food security in Chad

WAM

In line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has provided extensive aid to Chad to boost food security.

From December 25, 2024, to January 15, 2025, the UAE sent 1,000 tonnes of humanitarian assistance to help families affected by severe flooding.

The aid, which includes 30,000 food packages, over 20,000 blankets, and other essential supplies, is set to benefit more than 150,000 people, especially those in rural and remote areas.

The project was carried out by the UAE Embassy in N’Djamena – Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid – in collaboration with local partners in Chad.

The UAE's Ambassador to Chad, Rashid Al Shamsi, highlighted the close ties between the two nations and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting communities in crisis.
