The UAE has extended its condolences to the United States following the crash of a military helicopter and a passenger plane in Washington DC, which claimed the lives of dozens of people from both aircraft.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed sympathy to the US government and its people, as well as to the families of the victims.

The American Airlines passenger jet collided with the US Army Black Hawk helicopter mid-air and crashed into the Potomac River near Reagan Washington National Airport.
Authorities said that 28 bodies had been recovered from the river so far and they do not believe there were any survivors.
American Airlines confirmed 60 passengers and four crew members were aboard the jet. The helicopter, on a training flight, was carrying three soldiers, a US official said.
