Over 1,000 volunteers came together at Al Bustan Hall in Fujairah on Sunday as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign.
This collection drive successfully gathered 100 tonnes of essential relief materials, including food supplies and shelter equipment, for those in need in Lebanon.
The event was overseen by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.
Organised by the Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi Foundation for Humanitarian Affairs and the Fujairah Charity Association, the event exemplified the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian support.
Among the dignitaries present were Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi and other prominent figures from Fujairah, highlighting the event's significance.
Suhail Rashid Al Qadi, Director of the Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi Foundation for Humanitarian Affairs, highlighted that the values of giving, especially during times of distress, are deeply ingrained in Emirati culture, as instilled by the founding fathers and reinforced by current leadership.
Numerous Emirati charities participated in the collection drive, including the Emirates Red Crescent, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, among others.
