WAM

The UAE cabinet has reviewed the plans and procedures in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired the cabinet meeting on Tuesday and was briefed on the latest developments.

Cabinet members commended the health authorities and other official entities for ensuring the wellbeing of everyone.

They stressed that the government is dealing with the situation in line with global best practices and is coordinating closely with its international partners.

"All operational guidelines are being reviewed by appropriate institutions and as such, normal daily activities across all sectors in the country will continue uninterrupted and unchanged", said a statement from the Cabinet Office.

"Over the coming days, we will continue to receive expert recommendations and monitor developments closely to adjust, if at all, our procedures accordingly," it added.

The cabinet has also urged the public to be wary of rumours being circulated from within the UAE and abroad.
