The UAE has become the first country in the region to join the International Space Exploration Coordination Group. The organisation consists of 14 space agencies from around the world, including the likes of NASA. Membership was granted following approval from the group’s committee, after it assessed the UAE to be in the ranks of the advanced countries in the field. The chairman of the UAE Space Agency, Dr. Khalifa Al Rumaithi, expressed his delight at the decision, and said it will help support the UAE’s Mars mission.
