UAE announces New Year holiday for private sector

The UAE's Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced the New Year's holiday for private sector employees.

The ministry has revealed that Thursday, January 1, will be a paid holiday for private sector employees to mark the New Year.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources had earlier declared January 1 a day off for federal entities, with work resuming on Friday, January 2 remotely except for those needed on-site.
