Parents working in federal government entities will be allowed flexible hours as the new school term begins in the UAE.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has issued a circular regarding this to all ministries and federal entities.

The 'Back-to-School' policy allows employees to adjust their schedules by up to three hours, either through late arrival or early departure, to help with the school drop-off or pick-up process on the first day.

For federal staff with children in nurseries or kindergartens, this flexibility applies during the first week of the new term, also permitting up to three hours of adjusted time per day.

The inititaive aims to support employees without disrupting their workflow, with each request subject to managerial approval and existing federal guidelines.

Additionally, employees may also receive up to three hours of leave to attend parent-teacher meetings, graduation ceremonies and other significant events during the academic year.
