UAE federal workers will be allowed reduced work hours on Monday, August 25, for school drop-offs and pick-ups on the first day of the new academic year.

It's part of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources' annual back-to-school policy that allows workers to reduce their hours by not more than three hours.

Workers with children in nurseries and kindergartens will be allowed flexible hours for the first week, starting Monday, with a daily limit of three hours.

The authority added that employees will also be allowed to take time off to attend parent-teacher meetings, graduation ceremonies and other school events during the academic year.
