Three UAE universities have made it onto the list of the world’s top 500. The latest QS World University Rankings ranks the American University of Sharjah at number 411, the United Arab Emirates University at 421 and Khalifa University at 481. The overall list is topped by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology followed by Harvard, while the University of Cambridge and Stanford are joint third. This is the 12th edition of the annual ranking of the world’s top universities, which uses six performance indicators to assess institutions. A total of 82 countries are represented this year, with the largest share claimed by the US with 154 entries.
