Thousands of motorbikes seized in Sharjah traffic campaign

As many as 6,705 motorbikes were confiscated in Sharjah last year as part of an ongoing traffic safety campaign.

They were impounded mostly due to the drivers failing to abide by traffic rules potentially endangering other road users.

The campaign by the Traffic and Patrol Administration at Sharjah Police General Command targetted delivery riders with Director Lt Col Mohammed Alai Al Naqbi pointing out they were involved in most of the accidents involving motorcycles in the emirate.

Sharjah Police is calling on bikers to comply with all traffic rules, take adequate safety measures such as wearing a helmet and high visibility jacket, and follow all road signs and alerts.
