Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office and Member of the Executive Council, is the latest official to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
He was inoculated during a visit to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, where he also reviewed the vaccine being administered to frontline workers in vital sectors.
"In support of the programme and to encourage workers in vital sectors to take part, His Highness received the COVID-19 vaccine, affirming the leadership's commitment to supporting all frontline workers," a statement from the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office said.
Earlier this month, the UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention approved the use of the COVID-19 vaccine for frontline workers, following successful trials involving more than 31,000 volunteers from 125 nationalities.
