Sharjah Police have gone beyond their call of duty to help reunite a girl with her father after they were separated for more than 35 years.

The girl, who lives in another country, had first approached the police to help her reconnect with her father, whom she had never met since birth.

She explained that "family circumstances" had cause the deterioration of the relationship over 35 years.

A team from the Department of Family and Community Issues collected all the relevant details about the family and secured her a flight ticket to visit the country.

She was assisted all along the journey, and a support group was set up to help both sides of the family during the reunion.

It's part of the Sharjah Humanitarian and Social Police's efforts in supporting family stability.
