Police in Sharjah have been helping families in different areas of the UAE who have been affected by flooding caused by Cyclone Kyarr.

Taking to social media, authorities stated that an emergency meeting had been held by The Executive Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in the emirate.

They say various issues were dealt with and that logistical support was being provided to families in the Kalba area.

A video was also shared showing flooded roads with officers helping to remove obstructions and piling up sand to prevent water entering homes.

Moderate to rough seas are expected over the next couple of days with wind speeds reaching 40 kmph at times.
