Roblox temporarily disables certain chat features in UAE

Authorities in the UAE have temporarily disabled some chat features in the UAE, along with the introduction of enhanced moderation content and Arabic communication for audiences in the country.

In a joint statement with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), Roblox also announced improvements to its safety features and parental controls.

They added that in-experience chat feature, which initially allows players to communicate inside a specific experience, will be temporarily disabled.

The new updates will be in effect immediately, in efforts of both parties creating a "safe digital space" for children to interact, explore, and confidently play in.

The authority and the gaming platform have placed children's online safety as their top priority, encouraging parents to monitor their children's activity, engage in dialogue with their experiences, and share feedback through several channels.
