A new hospital in Dubai is now home to medical imaging technology that gives off up to 90 per cent less radiation than usual.
The EOS device at King’s College Hospital London in Dubai Hills combines the capabilities of an X-Ray and a CT Scan.
The hospital's CEO Christian Schumacher says it's the first of its kind in the UAE.
He added that healthcare providers in the UAE have a responsibility not to over-prescribe drugs to patients.
Schumacher also says scans and tests should only be done when needed.
Mohamed Suleman from the ARN News Centre spoke with Schumacher at the official opening of King’s College Hospital London in Dubai Hills on Monday.
The event was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority and His Excellency Ahmed Al Tayer, Chairman of King’s College Hospital London in the UAE.
