His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a new law aimed at swiftly resolving disputes in citizen housing construction contracts.

The law, which officially comes into effect on January 1, 2026, is designed to protect the interests of all parties involved, ensuring projects continue smoothly and homes are delivered on time.

Under the new legislation, a dedicated branch within Dubai Courts' Centre for Amicable Settlement of Disputes, will ensure fast-track mediation and adjudication.

Mediation will be offered within 20 days, extendable for another 20 days by mutual agreement. If unresolved, a special committee will issue a decision within 30 days, also extendable.

Parties can appeal committee decisions to the Court of First Instance within 30 days.

This latest move supports social stability and enhances the well-being of citizens by promoting efficient, amicable solutions in housing development.
