More rainfall has been forecast for Dubai from late Thursday to early Friday, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said, warning residents to exercise caution.

Speaking to Dubai Eye 103.8's The Agenda, Alyaa Almazroui, forecaster at the NCM, said Dubai will receive the "next wave" of rain around 5-6 pm.

Heavy rain and hail hit parts of Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah early Thursday, with Almazroui adding that "35mm to 45mm of rainfall" is expected across the UAE until Saturday.

Several authorities in the UAE have also urged residents to take extra precautions during the unstable weather conditions.

In a post on social media platform X, Dubai Police advised residents to "avoid beaches, sailing, valleys, and areas prone to floods".

Private sectors workers in the UAE were also issued a warning by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

The authority urged firms to "take all precautions" during work hours on Thursday and Friday.

In a post on social media, Abu Dhabi's Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) called on "delivery riders to strictly adhere to the suspension of movement and delivery services during unstable weather conditions".

Dubai International Airport (DXB) confirmed that operations were not impacted by the unstable weather, and urged travellers to "allow extra time" to the airport and check their flight status with their airline.

Meanwhile, organisers of Hatta Festival said they "will be temporarily closed on Thursday and Friday" keeping visitors safety in mind.

The multicultural family destination Global Village also announced temporary closure due to prevailing weather conditions.
