The Indian state police's ‘Traffic Guru’ app has won an award for the best gamification service.

Traffic Guru is a 3D game that is designed to help understand traffic rules and driving techniques.

The app uses gamification and augmented reality techniques to encourage drivers to abide by traffic rules, and also guides motorists to police stations in the city in case of emergencies.

China’s app won in the ‘Public-Private Partnership’ category, while Indonesia’s app was honoured in the ‘Public Empowerment’ category.
