Passengers heading to the Indian city of Mumbai from the UAE will no longer have to undergo a seven-day home quarantine.

That's according to the latest guidelines issued by the city's civic body, which exempted UAE travellers from the mandatory home quarantine which is in place for all international flyers.

This will come into effect as of midnight January 17.

The authority added that since the UAE is not listed under the "at-risk" countries, passengers will not need to take a RT-PCR test upon arrival at the airport.
