Dubai's Crown Prince has stated that the emirate's 2040 Urban Master Plan provides "a clear roadmap for sustainable development and ambitious projects that place happiness at the forefront of our goals".
In a series of posts on social media, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, said His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the scheme with directives for Dubai to become the world’s top city for quality of life.
Sheikh Hamdan noted that "the roadmap shows our full readiness to meet the needs of the Dubai community as well as visitors".
It is "focusing on five urban centres to support economic sectors, diversify jobs and provide housing requirements, while determining the infrastructure required to support urban facilities and services".
His Highness added that the key goals of the plan include, "Strengthening citizens’ attachment to older neighborhoods, ensuring the optimal use of our resources, providing better housing options, increasing green spaces, stimulating investment, entrepreneurship and expanding sustainable transport solutions".
