A total of 1,518 prisoners have been pardoned in Dubai ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

Their release was ordered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The Dubai Public Prosecution, working alongside Dubai Police, has already begun the legal procedures to carry out the order.

Dubai’s Attorney General, Chancellor Essam Issa Al-Humaidan, said that the pardon highlights Sheikh Mohammed’s commitment to reuniting the pardoned individuals with their families during this special time.

The release offers these individuals a chance to start anew and reintegrate into society.
