President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to prioritising healthcare as the world marks health day.

In a social media post, Sheikh Mohamed highlighted that "investing in health is an investment in society’s future".

The UAE, he added, will continue to "promote a culture of healthy living in our communities".

The President said the UAE "also remains dedicated to supporting international efforts aimed at addressing global health challenges through science and innovation".

World Health Day - an initiative by the World Health Organisation (WHO) - is marked on April 7 every year.

This year, the WHO launched a global campaign titled “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures" that aims to encourage governments and the global health community to intensify efforts to eliminate preventable maternal and newborn deaths.
