His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in key sectors during talks with Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of south Indian state of Kerala, in Abu Dhabi.

The two sides explored avenues for developing bilateral cooperation in line with the strategic visions of both nations to further enhance existing economic and developmental partnerships, national news agency Wam reported.

The meeting comes just days after Pinarayi Vijayan attended a celebration to mark the 70th anniversary of the formation of the Kerala state (popularly known as Kerala Piravi) at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

Pinarayi Vijayan highlighted that the robust support the Malayali community enjoys in the UAE, and looked ahead to expanding partnerships in investment, infrastructure and social welfare, as well as exchanging expertise in education, health and technology.

Addressing the audience, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, said the UAE’s friendship with Kerala and India is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect and cooperation; such gatherings should serve as platforms for dialogue, understanding and further collaboration.

Sheikh Nahyan also hosted a reception for Pinarayi Vijayan and his accompanying delegation at his majlis in Abu Dhabi.
