Dubai authorities have assured visitors of the Gold Souq that they’re providing the highest standards of safety and security in the area.

The tourist favourite located in Deira reopened on April 26, following comprehensive sterilisation efforts.

Stores follow reduced hours from 11am to 9pm, with an occupancy ceiling of 30 per cent capacity.

Dubai Police noted that during the sterilisation period, there were no cases of robbery in the area.

Shoppers can reach the Gold Souk by riding abras and Dubai Metro stations. Meanwhile, more than 600 car park spaces are also available for motorists.

Tawhid Abdulla, Chairman, Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group said: “We express our sincere gratitude to the leaders of this country, all government entities, Dubai Police, CID and first responders who have worked tirelessly to get us to this point. By reopening the Deira Gold souk with a strong focus on safe practices, the UAE leadership has once again shown that we can maintain our resilience amidst crises of any magnitude.”
