Sharjah ruler approves AED 20,000 living allowance for government staff

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved monthly living allowance of AED 20,000 for 17,776 government workers and other groups from September.

It will cover 2,251 retirees and 6,652 families benefitting from social assistance from Sharjah government.

It will also benefit 5,300 retirees from outside the Sharjah government.

The decision follows in-depth studies looking at the monthly needs of Emirati families, and efforts by the Sharjah Ruler to provide them a dignified and decent living.
